A large study of 30,000 people in Copenhagen over 14 years found that those who biked to work lowered their risk of death by 40 percent compared to sedentary people. And in the short term, another study of 100 people in Perth, Australia, who replaced some car commutes with bike trips over the course of a year, found the bicycling improved aerobic fitness, cholesterol numbers, and lowered the risk of heart attacks and strokes.

That seems pretty straightforward. But what about the risk of getting crushed by a trash truck? Anyone who’s bicycled even a little bit knows all too well the fear of an encounter with a motor vehicle. Just yesterday the Washington Post reported on a 20-year-old bicyclist who was critically injured after being hit by a car in downtown D.C.

In Angola in the spring of 1988 the armed forces of apartheid South Africa and the US-backed mercenaries of Jonas Savimbi were defeated by the combined force of the Cuban military, the Angolan army, and the military units of the liberation movements of South Africa and Namibia. This led directly to the independence of Namibia and then to the fall of the apartheid regime in South Africa itself. Cuba’s heroic role is the outstanding example of principled anti-imperialist internationalism in the last decades of the twentieth century. (See a map of Angola below.)

We celebrate the twenty-fifth anniversary of these events by reprinting the account by Horace Campbell that appeared in Monthly Review in April 1989, with some pride at having published so sharp an analysis of current events—events largely ignored by the mass media then and since. We then present a military-focused historical analysis by Monthly Review Press author Ronnie Kasrils, who had the extraordinary fate to have headed ANC military intelligence in the battle alongside the Cubans, and then to have served for five years as Deputy Minister of Defense in the post-apartheid South African government—in regular contact with officers who had commanded the opposing forces. —The Editors

Well, bottom line is you agree with their agenda, most important thing is to get other people to agree and vote so they have the power to carry it out - that’s why the nitty-gritty of “canvassing” and “stuffing envelopes” is so important.
If you want to do other stuff to nudge people towards your view, you can blog and tweet about local / national issues, organise protests, link up with other protests/campaigns (why not link up with other parties on issues you agree with?), go to council meetings, set up an informal debating society in your workplace or college (could be just a monthly pub meet!), set up a stall at the local mall or car boot sale, organise fun fundraising events / gigs for the local party…bottomless pit of stuff to do, really, how much time do you have?! : )

Whether you like Fleetwood Mac or not,you have to love this pastiche on their seminal album,Rumours,starring that fear/hate relationship between Judge Death and Psi-Judge Anderson,which is fairly apt as the band were apparently going through similar(though not as deadly)crises,at the time.
